Doby Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 14, 2026
Last Updated: September 14, 2026

Studio Ji ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Doby application ("Service"). This policy explains how we handle personal information.

Summary of the September 14, 2026 revision

The Service is now a fully offline application. Accounts, sign-in, server sync, the public community feed, paid subscriptions and advertising have all been removed, and our servers have been shut down. As a result, the collection, third-party sharing and international transfers described in the previous revision no longer exist. The previous policy (effective September 8, 2026) is superseded as of the effective date above.

1. At a glance

2. What is stored on your device

The following is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us.

CategoryContents
Content you createTasks, routines, notes, goals, lists, places, attached locations, completion history
App settingsAppearance (light/dark), accent color, language, holiday country, notification settings
Display nameExists only if you type one into your profile. It never leaves the device.

This information lives in the app's storage area (a SQLite database) and is removed when you delete the app.

3. What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect any personal information from you, and we do not operate a server that stores user data.

There is no sign-up, no sign-in, and no account identifier that could identify you.

4. Network communication

The Service communicates with the outside world only in the cases below. Of these, the only one that sends anything you typed is "c. Searching for a place on the map."

a. Downloading reference data

Public holiday tables, the copy shown on the "more from the developer" card, and this policy and the Terms of Service are downloaded from https://static.doby.fyi. These are plain reads of public files that are identical for every user, and the requests carry nothing that identifies you.

As with any web server, the content delivery service that serves those files (Amazon Web Services) may automatically record access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested path). We do not analyze those logs or connect them to any individual.

b. Displaying the map

When you attach a place to a task or view the map, the Google Maps SDK downloads map imagery. In doing so, information needed to serve the map — such as the coordinates of the area being viewed — is sent to Google. That processing is governed by Google's privacy policy.

c. Searching for a place on the map

What you type into the map's search box is sent to Naver Local Search (openapi.naver.com) and Google Geocoding (maps.googleapis.com) in order to find the place. Naver covers places in Korea; Google covers addresses and locations elsewhere.

In addition, when you tap the map to pick a spot, the coordinates of that spot are sent to Naver Cloud Platform (maps.apigw.ntruss.com) to obtain an address. What leaves your device is the point you tapped on screen — not your device's current location, which the Service does not read.

These three are the only user input the Service sends anywhere.

Only the search text and the display language are sent; nothing identifying you accompanies it. We neither receive nor store these searches — the request goes from your device to Google directly. Google's handling and retention are governed by Google's privacy policy.

If you do not type in the search box, this transmission does not happen. Places already attached to your tasks, and saved coordinates, are not transmitted.

d. Actions you take yourself

Tapping "Export My Data" opens your device's share sheet and sends the data wherever you choose (mail, notes, files, and so on). Tapping "Contact Us" opens your mail app. Neither sends anything to us automatically; you are the sender and you choose the recipient.

5. Sharing with third parties

Because we collect no personal information, we have no personal information to share with or entrust to third parties.

The following parties are involved in operating the Service:

PartyRoleWhat reaches them
Amazon Web ServicesDelivers public reference filesAccess logs (IP and similar). None of your content
GoogleDisplays mapsRequest information needed to serve maps. None of your content
GooglePlace search (addresses, outside Korea)The search text you type and the display language. No identifier
NaverPlace search in KoreaThe search text you type. No identifier
Naver Cloud PlatformCoordinates to addressThe point you tapped on the map. Not your device location; no identifier
Apple / GoogleOperating-system backupIf you have device backup enabled, app data may be included in that backup

Operating-system backup is an arrangement between you and that provider, not with us. We cannot access the contents of such backups. Whether backup is used is set by you in your device settings.

6. Retention and deletion

All data is on your device, so we set no retention period. You can delete data at any time:

If you have operating-system backup enabled, copies may remain in that backup; you can remove them from your device's or account's backup settings.

7. Your rights

Since we hold none of your personal information, access, correction, deletion and restriction of processing are things you carry out directly on your device, without needing to ask us. The export feature lets you take your data with you.

You may still contact us with any questions using the details below.

8. Location

The Service does not read your device's current location. Attaching a place to a task saves a point you selected yourself on the map, and that value likewise never leaves your device.

9. Children's privacy

Because we collect no personal information, there is no information we process differently by age. The Service is nonetheless not directed primarily at children.

10. Notifications

Reminder notifications for tasks and routines are scheduled and shown by your device itself. No server of ours sends notifications to your device, and we do not collect a device token that would make that possible. You can turn notification permission off at any time in your device settings.

11. Advertising and tracking

The Service contains no advertising. We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA / Advertising ID), we include no analytics or crash-reporting tools that record how you use the app, and we do not track your activity across other apps or websites.

12. Security

Because your data never leaves your device, its protection rests on the security of the device itself — a screen lock, device encryption, and keeping the operating system up to date. All communication with the outside world uses HTTPS.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the revised version on this page together with its effective date. Changes that are unfavorable to users will be announced seven days before they take effect.
